The Victoria Street housing site was redeveloped to replace older style housing with 359 new homes that are bright, modern and energy efficient.

There are also new quality outdoor spaces with gardens, a community pavilion and pedestrian and cycling pathways to complement the local area.

The new 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes are a mix of 240 social and 119 affordable homes bringing a 21% uplift in social housing at the site.

Ground Lease Model

Delivered through a first-of-its kind Ground Lease Model, Homes Victoria is leasing the land to not-for-profit project partner Building Communities to manage and maintain for the next 40 years, enabling all land to remain in public ownership.

Projects like this are helping to tackle housing affordability by delivering more secure rental housing options in the local area.

Welcoming new and relocating renters

The Victoria Street housing development is now complete, and residents are settling into their new homes, including returning renters who lived at the site prior to its redevelopment.

These homes are also providing relocation opportunities for renters living at the soon to be redeveloped tower at nearby 12 Holland Court and 120 Racecourse Road, Flemington.
