Simmons Street, South Yarra

522 new homes will replace the 204 previous homes at the site. The development will also include quality public spaces that residents and the wider community can enjoy.

The new homes at Simmons Street will include a mix of one -, 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom homes to better meet housing demand in Victoria.

There will be a new café, social enterprises and an on-site office for tenancy support.

The Simmons Street development will better integrate with the surrounding neighbourhood and provide quality open spaces that residents and the local community can enjoy, including a play space and community garden.

The homes will be designed for modern living with:

• Lighter and brighter rooms
• Private laundries and good storage space
• Private outdoor spaces
• 5-star green star energy rating for more comfortable homes that are easier to heat and cool
• Accessible design for aging in place or people living with disability
  
   

We invited the community to provide early feedback pin June and July 2022. 

We also asked the community to provide feedback on plans for the Simmons Street, South Yarra housing site between between 23 November and 20 December 2023.  

Feedback received during the consultation period helped to inform our final plans to develop the site and we would like to thank everyone who took part in this process.
